Sewing Saturday

I decided to make a new tennis skirt while I watched General Conference on Saturday. I wish I had the funds to make the outfits I designed (I am not a great artist, but the pics get the ideas across), but I didn't want to let that get me down. I took an old pair of basketball shorts...my Duke Shorts, to be exact, and made a skirt. I also used an old shirt that I don't' wear anymore as well. This is what I came up with (it looks better on me).

I plan to make a few more skirts out of existing shorts, since I have so many shorts that I shouldn't wear anymore, even though they are my favorite things to wear! I have been playing a lot more tennis than basketball these days, and I have found that my range of motion on the court is improved when I wear skirts, or comfortable pants or shorts. Here are some of my ideas for tennis clothes!I'm thinking these out fits would be fun to make, as well as fun to wear! That is part of the excitement for me. Creating something from nothing. Part of what I love about my job is that I get to use a computer to create something beautiful. Seeing the end product of what I do, gives me great satisfaction and a greater appreciation for the craftsmanship needed in producing beautiful doors, furniture, or whatever it is one wishes to create. I still need to sew a blanket for Landon, and finish Hayden's! Sigh...busy times ahead.
