Living on the Edge
So much going on these days! School is going well. Just did well on my final last week and found out that I will be going full time again at work (which started yesterday). It's not exactly the work I would like to be doing, but it's all good! I still do my regular job in the mornings then help out another department in the afternoons. Cold calling...not my fave.
I went to bike party on Friday night. It was so much fun! (pictures to come later). We rode out about 8-9 miles maybe then back about the same. We did some karaoke too! We probably rode for a total of about 20 miles in the end if you include getting to the start line and back to the car. We enjoyed a late night meal at La Vic's and then headed home! We had no idea we were going to take the scenic tour of South San Jose. LJ was struggling to follow the signs home for some reason. We made it home that was the important part!
On Saturday morning, I shot a nice little music video. It's silly, but I loved it! It was silly, fun, and about my friend lagging on me...well, sorta! Here it is for all to see! It's unedited and still rough, but for now, this is what I have time for!
Enjoy!
This song was inspired by my friend Breaking Dawn. She is a friend and and a scholar! Haha!

New Skills - "numb" chuck skills, bo staff skills...
Some friends of mine asked me to help them with the re-painting of their swimming pool. I said "sure, why not?" I have no regrets, despite I thought I was gonna pass out a few hours into it! LOL! It was pretty warm yesterday and I found that chiseling with a pretty thick dust mask, safety glasses, plenty of sunshine, not enough water, and wearing mostly black clothing, made for a challenging activity! Clearly, I'm not as young or spry as I once was. I'm a bit out of shape, soft in the belly, and yeah, overweight, but dang!
As soon as the sun had gone down, chisel work completed, bottle of water consumed, cool water splashed on my face (two times), and a moment in the shade and cool of the garage, I was good to go. We patched up the pool floor and I learned how to have the perfect consistency of patch-it cement. It was amazing how easy it was to spread when the consistency was right! I learned a lot yesterday and will continue my learning today and tomorrow. I think all my woodworking projects out in the GDI shop have helped me become a proficient plaster-er of pools floors.
Not sure I plan to have a career in it! It is not the easiest work I have ever done, that's for certain. I'm excited to help out my friends and make a little cash in the meantime.
